हिडिम्बी और भीम

पांडव लाक्षागृह की आग से भाग जाने के बाद, एक जंगल में आए। घंटों तक चलने के बाद, वे जंगल के उस हिस्से में आ गए जहाँ हिडिम्ब और उनकी बहन हिडिम्बी नाम का एक दानव रहता था।

हिडिंब मानव मांस के लिए एक महान भूख के साथ एक क्रूर दानव था। उन्हें बहुत जल्द होश आया कि पांडव एक महान दावत के लिए उपलब्ध थे। उसने अपनी बहन को पांडवों के आगे भेज दिया।

हिडिंब हिडिम्बी को भेजता है

पांडव सो रहे थे और भीम किसी परेशानी की तलाश में जाग रहे थे। हिडिम्बी साथ आती है और उसे सौंपे गए काम के बारे में तुरंत भूल जाती है।

भीम और हिडिंब के बीच लड़ाई

जब हिडिम्बी लंबे समय तक नहीं लौटी, तो हिडिम्बी उसकी तलाश में गई और उसे भीम से बात करते हुए देखा। “मैंने तुम्हें मानव को मारने के लिए भेजा है और तुम उससे बात कर रहे हो। मैं खुद उसे मार दूंगा। ” इतना कहकर उसने भीम पर हमला कर दिया। भीम द्वारा हिडिम्ब को मारने के बाद एक भयंकर लड़ाई हुई और समाप्त हुई।

शादी का प्रस्ताव

अपने भाई की मृत्यु के बाद, हिडिम्बी भीम से शादी करना चाहती थी। भीम ने मना कर दिया और हिडिम्बी को भी मारना चाहता था, लेकिन कुंती ने हस्तक्षेप किया।

कुंती द्वारा शर्त

कुंती ने हिडिम्बी के प्रस्ताव को स्वीकार किया, लेकिन एक शर्त पर। एक बार जब उसे भीम से एक बच्चा हुआ, तो उसे भीम को उसे छोड़कर पांडवों में शामिल होने की अनुमति देनी चाहिए।

भीम की शर्त

भीम एक शर्त पर उससे विवाह करने को तैयार हो जाता है। “मैं दिन के दौरान आपके साथ अपना समय बिताऊंगा, लेकिन मुझे रात को अपनी माँ और भाइयों के पास वापस जाना होगा। आप हमारी यात्रा में शामिल हो सकते हैं|

भीम और हिडिम्बी का विवाह

हिडिम्बी खुशी से सहमत हो जाता है और वे तुरंत शादी कर लेते हैं। अपने वचन के अनुसार, भीम हर दिन हिडिम्बी के साथ बिताता है। वह उसे ले जाती है जहाँ वह इच्छा करता है और उनके पास एक अद्भुत, जादुई समय होता है। शाम ढलने के तुरंत बाद, भीम रात के घंटे बिताने के लिए पांडव वंश के बाकी हिस्सों में लौट आते हैं।

घटोत्कच का जन्म

एक वर्ष के भीतर, हिडिम्बी एक बड़े अर्ध-राक्षस पुत्र को जन्म देती है, जिसका नाम घटोत्कच है, क्योंकि उसका गंजा सिर पॉट की तरह दिखता है। घटोत्कच पांडवों से बहुत प्यार करता है और वे उसके साथ आसक्त हैं।

घटोत्कच एक महान योद्धा और महाभारत युद्ध में एक महत्वपूर्ण व्यक्ति बन गया। एक मास्टर जादूगर और जादूगर, भगवान कृष्ण ने उन्हें वरदान दिया कि दुनिया में कोई भी अपने कृष्ण को छोड़कर अपने जादू-टोने के कौशल का मुकाबला नहीं कर सकेगा।

Hidimbi and Bheem

After Pandavas fled from the fire of Lakshagriha, the came to a forest. After walking for hours, they came to the part of the forest where a demon named Hidimb and his sister Hidimbi lived.

Hidimb was a ferocious demon with a great appetite for human flesh. He sensed very soon that Pandavas were available for a great feast. He sent her sister ahead to Pandavas.

Hidimb sends Hidimbi

Pandavas were sleeping and Bheem was awake looking for any troubles. Hidimbi comes along and forgets immediately about the work assigned to her.

She fells in love with Bheem and she assumed the form of a very beautiful lady, approached Bheem and expressed her desire to marry him. She also revealed her true identity and her brother’s intentions.

Fight between Bheem and Hidimb

When Hidimbi did not return for a long time, Hidimb went looking for her and saw her talking to Bheem. “I sent you to kill the human and you are talking to him. I will kill him myself.” Saying so, he attacked Bheem. A fierce fight followed and ended with Bheem killing Hidimb.

Proposal of marriage

After the death of her brother, Hidimbi wanted to marry Bheem. Bheem refused and wanted to kill Hidimbi as well, but Kunti interfered.

Condition by Kunti

Kunti’s acceded to Hidimbi’s proposal, but on one condition. Once She had a child from Bheem, She must allow Bheem to leave her and join Pandavas.

Bheem’s condition

Bheem agrees to marry her, on one condition. “I will spend my time with you during the day, but I must return to my mother and brothers at nightfall. You may join us in our journey.

Marriage of Bheem and Hidimbi

Hidimbi happily agrees and they marry immediately. True to his word, Bheem spends every day with Hidimbi. She takes him wherever he desires and they have a wonderful, magical time together. Promptly at dusk, Bheem returns to the rest of the Pandava clan to spend the hours of the night.

Birth of Ghatotkacha

Within a year, Hidimbi gives birth to a huge half-rakshasa son, who is named Ghatotkacha, because his bald head looks like a pot. Ghatotkacha greatly loves the Pandavas and they are enamored with him.

Ghatotkacha went on to become a great warrior and an important figure in the Mahabharata war. A master wizard and sorcerer, Lord Krishna gave him a boon that no one in the world would be able to match his sorcery skills except Krishna himself.
